Junes Book Club Meeting -- Legend

I really enjoyed this book!! Thanks to Carla for telling me about it. I hope all of you enjoyed it as well.

We started out with a relaxing picnic by the water at Union Point Park. We had a pretty good turn out although we still missed those that couldn't come.

After our dinner we headed to the Strike Zone for a lil "friendly" game of laser tag! Brittany thought for sure that she had us with her A Team of women, but whoa what's that, the Underdogs WON!! Thats right, Carrie, Angela and Robyn (our newest member--wahoo!!!) totally rocked it!

May Book Club Meeting - To Kill a Mockingbird

Melissa Trenum hosted Mays book club meeting at Arturo's! The company was great, food fantastic, and the book was enlightening.

Carrie is hosting next months book club meeting, she's picked Legend by Marie Lu. Since it is not a book club kit book, you will need to purchase it online or in a store. Possibly rent from the library if its out. 

Thanks to all those that had been apart of book club over the years and more recently months. We'd like to say good luck and farewell to Melissa Young, Melissa Trenum, Sonja Philbrick and Stacey Wilkinson as they move onto a new adventure with their families!

We'd like to welcome Erin Hoellein, Jenni Kelsey, Melissa Byram and Angela Uber which are new joins this year! We are excited to have a great remainder of the year with you all!

Movie Night!!

Carla set us up in her theater room for our April book club meeting. It was fabulous! Brittany rented the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby and supplied many TASTY treats!

We wish that more girls from the club could have been there but we realize life gets crazy. However, I think we should all have a date night to see the new one! Any takers?

Melissa T. is heading up the next month's pick: To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  She has books if you need one!  I'm seeing a running theme of "classics."  Happy reading!

March Meeting

We met at Stacey's house to discuss The Memory Keeper's Daughter. It was a fun group and we all had a lot to say about the book!  Thanks for hosting, Stacey! 

The next book is Brittany's choice: The Great Gatsby.  Let's see what all the fuss is about! :)

This month we are reading The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. Our next meeting will be held the second week of March and Stacey will be hosting it. We are looking forward to a another fun discussion.

February 12th Meeting

We had a fun evening at the Craven County Library in Downtown New Bern, discussing The Zookeeper's Wife and playing a rousing game of Taboo. The book club questions were not the greatest yet the conversation about the book was interesting. There seemed to be mixed feelings about actual storyline yet we all agreed that the author was too longwinded.
