For the month of May we read The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. It was the last Book Club Meeting for Angela. :(
We can't wait for the second book in the series next year!
We ate at Persimmons and while the food was great the wait was INSANE!!!
Sad to see Angela go but happy we had her for the time we did!
Addie chose The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh for Aprils Book Club Pick! It was such a great book. Then we met up at Michael's where we got to make our own realistic flower arrangement! Afterwards we went to Annabelle's for dinner. We had great fun and TONS of laughter that evening. Thanks Addie for a amazing meeting!
Next month Carrie will be hosting and we will be reading Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard.
Laura hosted this months book club meeting. We read The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom. She made us a very delicious southern style dinner and we had a trivia game based on the book. Thanks so much for a great evening!
Next month Addie is hosting and has picked The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh.
WOW! So stoked to be beginning another year of book club! This month is our kickoff to the new year, so I thought we would have a little different kid of fun. I created a book quote scavenger hunt at our local book store, had prizes then headed to the neighboring Japanese restaurant for dinner!
SharRee Hosted last BCM of 2014! She chose Shoot the Moon by Billie Letts! We ate yummy chili, and corn bread and had some tasty pie! We did some fun trivia and had a wonderful evening!
Robyn hosted this months meeting. She picked Whistling past the Graveyard by Susan Crandall. This was one of my favorites this year! I loved Eula and Starla!
A few great quotes:
"Remeber when we was bakin', and what I say about overworked crust? You and me, we done pushed our luck 'bout as far as a body dare. We overworked crust." Eula "My Grandmother said she prays for me every day. Which was funny, because I'd only ever heard Mamie pray, "Dear Lord, give me strength." That sure sounded like a prayer for herself..." Starla
"Our upstairs is hot as the hinges of Hades... I kinda hoped when Mamie got home late this afternoon, she'd find me passed out from heatstroke."
